I was stationed at Ton Son Nhut from December 66-Nov 67. During my tour I went to Nha Trang as well, but as stupid as it sounds, I can't recall how I got there, why I went there, how long I was there, etc. I remember some little things like using my steel pot to get water from a tanker truck to brush my teeth or shave and looking out at mountains, where they used to drop napalm, but that's about it. I also used to go as a gunner on convoys from Long Bein to Bein Hoa (not sure of the spelling), but again, I only have vague recollections of how often I did this and what if anything happened along the way. On my last day in NAM, I was at Bein Hoa to fly out in the morning. When I went in to the hut to get a pillow, some asshole stole my bag which had every picture I took during the year, so reading your story and those of other vets are of great interest to me. Sorry to be so long and perhaps nonsensical, but I found your article to ring true. Welcome home!

AFAFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04557133973539067060noreply@blogger.com
