VA eye appointment last week, and yesterday the local {via VA contract} Cardio Doc to check things out...77 1/2 years old and amazingly I'm still above ground and have outlived all of my surname ancestors since my Great-Great-Great Grandfather 1775-1863...not sure how old Israel made it that old, but he was the last to get past 75 until me, at least in the known immediate family. While I still have a slight {I guess} Heart Murmur, which I will have a Echo done early next month...frankly I'm not worried at all, because not likely I will let them cut on me regardless...
I've lived a good life, and can still drive, walk, drink beer, smoke good cigars...if it all ends tomorrow, I'm fine with whatever the good Lord brings on me.
Anyway the summer is passing on, and that IMO can't come soon enough. I hate long, cold, winters, these days, but Hot and Humid Summers are almost as bad...and I look forward to a couple months of cooler, dryer, weather, where I can sit out, smoke a good cigar, or head to the lake and walk with Millie the Airedale and the wife. I will also be taking in Fall League travel baseball over the next 6 weeks or so...I got down for a double header on Sunday where middle Grandson did his first games at D1 and he and youngest son moved back to that highest level as player and coach, although son moved to assistant coaching...with a business to run in 3 states and around 100 employees, he decided he needed to step back and work more closely with that and with the other son's and their activities as well...good decision, IMO.
Anyway, Kam, battled leadoff in both games, ended up 2 for 3 with 2 walks, 2 runs, 2 stolen bases, and 3 runs batted in...he also took the mound in the first game, where despite being a bit wild, he survived...pitching is not his primary talent, but the team needs him as one of it's arms come next season {which begins in March}...they won 16-2 in the 2nd game after losing 10-6 in the opener...
Not a lot planned for much of the fall...a road trip with older son, OSU grad, either Iowa or Indiana, in October, still waiting on a kickoff time to see which will fit our calender ... and a Thanksgiving Bengals game vs New Orleans in Cincy with Middle Son on November 29th..
Come winter, wife and I will mark 50 years married...no big plans for that, not our style, but we will do something special the week before Christmas...I still wanna get back to the Everglades for one more photo shoot, where I can post my own, or do som Ai work, like the one below from a collage of photos I have taken down there.
That's the small but set plans for the rest of the year, although I'm sure something will come about in addition to those...and I will hopefully post a time or two more...
Back Later>>>>
