Back from the Peoples Republic of Wisconsin/The No Deal Debt Deal

Gone since Thursday, we arrived safe and sound,  back in Celina yesterday afternoon....our weekend was not without "adventure" and drama however....

Thursday_____

Thursday, youngest son Hal and I went golfing near his Centerville home, in nearby Germantown, Ohio.  I got up just after 4am, showered, and headed down for our 7:30 "Tee Time".   We were done by 11.  This was the first time I had golfed on a regulation course in almost 9 years...that was back in October 2002 just before the last Vietnam VSPA Reunion in Dayton.  I was prepared to have a bad day on the course, but ended up pleasantly surprised...I hacked my way to a 112, and if not for a few shots I should have made it would have been close to 100, meanwhile Hal stroked a 97...once done there we headed back to Celina.  Hal would ride with Patricia and me to Wisconsin, while his wife Lisa, 5 months along, would fly to Chicago, then to Milwaukee, where Hal would pick her up on Friday evening.

The reason for the Wisconsin trip was the marriage of Patricia's nephew in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, with a reception to follow at the Oconomowoc Lake Club:

Needless to say, this was going to be a big reception with just about everything you could want.

Hal and Michael have been pretty good friends/cousins over the years, so he and Lisa were invited, and the 4 of us were among the 200 guests.  A few beers and a glass of Drambuie later and we were on the way back to Patricia's parents Condo, while Hal and Lisa, elected to stay at a motel off I-94 in Delafield.

In addition to the Wedding, we had a fish fry to honor Patricia's sister Sue's retirement, that took place at the Golden Mast on Friday, then on Sunday over to her youngest Brother Dave's place to watch the Dousman Day Parade.  When that was done, I took Hal and Lisa back to the Airport outside Milwaukee...Hal would fly to Denver on business, and Lisa would fly back to Dayton.  Patricia and I would stick around until Monday morning, when we would breakfast with Sue and their parents, before heading home.  That's when the Nitro drama began......

Monday_____

After breakfast out, we headed south on Wisconsin 67 taking the back roads towards the Illinois State Line, to avoid the construction on I-894/94  As I had mentioned earlier, the recently purchased Dodge Nitro had been experiencing some electrical problems.  One had occurred as we were leaving Celina, but that cleared up... so after driving some 500 miles over the weekend, the problems seemed to be gone, until we approached I-94 near Illinois.  Traveling about 55mph, the alarm went off, the wipers started working, and the alarm horn was blaring...this lasted a few seconds, but was the sign of things to come.  After stopping for coffee and a restroom break, I began the trek south on 94 and had just about reached the state line, separating Wisconsin from Illinois, when the alarm and all the whistles and bells began in earnest.   Wipers on, fluid from them, both front and back, spraying, doors locking and unlocking, horn going off, etc, etc.  I managed to pull off the final exit before the Illinois Toll Way and into a T/A Truck Stop parking lot.  For the next half hours or so, I waited and tried a few different things, before the alarm finally stopped coming on...with the check engine light aglow, I headed down towards Chicago, from there we had no more problems, and when stopping outside Van Wert, Ohio, some 200 miles later, the check engine light finally went off.

Regardless, the Nitro has some "issues" that need taken care of....still under warranty,  we will see them through, come Hell or High Water.  As for now, it is running like everything is normal, but I know better....

So that was the weekend in short, and am now glad to be home....

Political Observations_____

Wisconsin...just when I think Ohio is the pits politically, I need to drive no further than Wisconsin to see what a real dump, politically speaking, is.  Deep in debt and for years controlled by the Marxist in Madison, the Poverty Pimps in Milwaukee, and the public union trash, Wisconsin, despite it's natural beauty, has become a political shithole to the Nth degree.  Now with GOP newly elected Governor Scott Walker in charge and a GOP dominated state congress, the losers on the left have taken aim to protect their fatted calf's.  Recall elections begin next Tuesday to try to undo the recent improvements to the state budget.  The out of state unions, and the Madison radicals are trying to recall a handful of elected conservatives, so they can have in their way.  Their way being a debt ridden state, controlled by the union thugs that run the public workers(Oxymoron there) and Teachers Unions.  What Obammy and the left are doing to the US, the public unions, the Milwaukee poverty pimps, and Madison radicals at UW, are trying to do to Wisconsin.  I have to believe they will succeed....the rest of the state, filled with good people, will get stuck with the bills.

And speaking of our Kenyan and Thief Barack Obama...how about that budget "Deal" with the GOP?  Anybody but me realize that the left wins again?  There are no real cuts, just more spending, spending, spending....the Tea Party newcomers for the most part, have held up their end.  The old line Republicans, like McCain, Boehner, and McConnell, have folded like cheap suits....they have kicked the can down the road, and kicked our kids and grand kids in the teeth....the country is heading into economic Armageddon, and, the media, Islamic Radicals, China, and the left, are celebrating.

As for me, I have pretty much given up on politics....at 62, I will survive until the end, the debt will skyrocket, and the freeloaders will continue to produce more kids than the working people of this country....Bend Over Taxpaying Americans....this one is going to hurt~back later>>>>

Photos-Hal(bottom) and I attack the 18th hole on Thursday...shooting better than I expected, after a 9 year layoff from the links.  The look out over Oconomowoc Lake from the deck of the Club, where the wedding reception was held....The Dodge Nitro, still has some serious issues, which were exposed in the return trip from Wisconsin.  And Wisconsin Politics, where the lunatics are running the political nuthouse.....

Will read it Charlie....I also think the recalls will work, the Left and the Union Thugs are pouring money into Wisconsin, and it being the middle of summer, only a small percent of the voters will show up at the polls....and most will be bused there by the unions. I hope I am wrong, but.....
